Kuwait Airways starts flying nonstop from Kuwait to Phuket on 27 October 2026, twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays, and schedule data show up to four flights a week from 2 December 2026 to 3 February 2027. Until now, Kuwaiti clients bound for the Andaman coast flew through Bangkok or another hub. This briefing, from a Thailand DMC for travel agents, sets out what the route changes, what it does not, and how to build a Phuket programme for Kuwaiti families.

The route
Kuwait Airways announced the service on 24 August 2026. Its acting chief executive, Abdulwahab Al-Shatti, said the route was part of a strategy to add direct options to destinations "witnessing growing demand". Schedule data published by AeroRoutes on 1 October list an Airbus A330-900neo, with some dates on the smaller A330-800neo, and show the extra peak flights from 2 December to 3 February. The published timings put arrivals in Phuket in the afternoon or late evening, depending on the day. Times and the peak frequency can still change, so reconfirm them before you issue a programme. The airline also flies Kuwait to Bangkok, so a two-centre trip can now be built with one carrier and no domestic connection.

Why it matters now
Phuket needs the seats. Island arrivals for January to August 2026 were reported at 9.2 million, down 1.76% on 2025, and Kuwait Airways is one of four routes local officials listed as starting in late October. The wider Middle East market has also turned: our briefing on the Middle East rebound covers TAT's latest regional figures. On entry rules, Kuwaiti passport holders are in the 30-day visa-exemption group of the framework that took effect on 15 September 2026; our visa exemption guide explains how it works.
What Kuwaiti clients want
Most Kuwaiti leisure business is family travel: several generations, long stays, and a strong preference for space and privacy. That means pool villas or connecting rooms, a private vehicle large enough for the luggage, halal dining at every stop, and a slower pace with shopping and a few well-chosen day trips. Phuket suits this well, with resort areas on the west coast, island days by boat in calm weather and the old town for an evening out.

How to sell it
Hold villas early for the December and January peak, when the airline adds frequencies and Phuket hotels fill. Build in a rest day after arrival, keep boat trips flexible around the weather, and offer Bangkok as a second stop for shopping. Ask your Thailand DMC to confirm halal options and prayer facilities at each hotel before you confirm. Our Phuket guide covers the island, our villa rentals team holds private-pool stock, our Thailand DMC transport team runs private vans and boats, the full range is on our Thailand DMC services page, and the trade desk is on our contact page.
