Shirak Avia Links Yerevan and Phuket from November: What It Means for the Armenian Market

Dispatch No. 494

12 October 2026 · David Leo · Explera Trade Desk · 4 min read

Armenian carrier Shirak Avia plans a weekly Yerevan-Phuket flight from early November 2026, using a Boeing 737-800 with a technical stop in Dhaka, according to published schedules. For agents in Armenia, Explera DMC reads it as a simple way to sell a Phuket week without changing planes, through the winter season.

We write these notes as a Thailand DMC for agencies selling Thailand abroad. Explera DMC Co., Ltd. is licensed by the Department of Tourism under Tourism Business Licence No. 14/05119, the licence the trade calls the TAT licence, and Explera carries IATA TIDS registration 96215733 and ASTA membership 900408341. The schedule

AeroRoutes lists the outbound flight, 5G967, leaving Yerevan at 22:25 and reaching Phuket at 10:40 the next day after its stop in Dhaka. The return, 5G968, leaves Phuket at 11:40 and lands in Yerevan at 18:00 the same day. Times are local, and the airline can still change them. AeroRoutes and the Caspian Post give 5 November as the first flight, while the Armenian news agency ARKA reported 10 November, so confirm the first departure with the airline. ARKA also reported that tickets are on sale and that the flights run until March 2027. Shirak Avia is opening weekly flights to Bali and to Malé in the same week, so Phuket competes with both for the same winter-sun traveller.

Who the route suits

One flight a week suits a seven- or fourteen-night stay, which is the usual shape of a beach holiday from the region. Phuket is in its dry season through the northern winter, and the flight lands in the late morning, so clients can be at a west-coast hotel by early afternoon. Couples and families who want a beach week are the obvious first buyers. A second week elsewhere in Thailand works too, as long as the client flies home on the following week's rotation, and a Thailand DMC can split the stay between Phuket and a second base.

What to check before you sell

Check entry rules on each traveller's own passport, because Thailand changed its visa-exemption list on 15 September; our 30-day visa exemption briefing explains the change. Confirm the flight with the airline before you take a deposit, since a route with one rotation a week has no fallback if it slips. Ask your Thailand DMC to hold hotel rooms on the arrival day itself, so nobody waits for a mid-afternoon check-in after an overnight flight.

How we can help

Our transport team meets the late-morning arrival at Phuket airport, our hotel team holds rooms around the weekly rotation, and our Phuket guide sets out the beaches and areas. For smaller markets like Armenia, our emerging source markets briefing explains how we work. Every other service is on our Thailand DMC services page, and requests reach us through our contact page.
