Laem Son National Park in Ranong, on Thailand's northern Andaman coast, is fully open to Thai and international visitors for the 2026-27 season, The Nation reported on 17 October 2026. Explera DMC Thailand explains what the park offers and how agents can add a few quiet island days to an Andaman itinerary.

What has been announced?
According to The Nation, the park says its visitor facilities are ready for the season and its staff have been trained in safety and hygiene. It lists Andaman beaches and islands, snorkelling over coral, viewpoint walks and camping, and names Ko Khang Khao for snorkelling, the sunset at Bang Ben Beach and overnight camping on Ko Kam Tok.
Where is Laem Son?
The park covers a stretch of coast and offshore islands in Ranong province, well north of Khao Lak and Phuket. It sees far fewer visitors than the Similan Islands or Phi Phi, which is the point for clients who want empty beaches more than resort facilities. Ranong has its own airport, but schedules change through the season, so check current flights before quoting; the alternative is a long road transfer north from Phuket. Our Ranong guide covers the province.
Who is it for?
Laem Son suits clients who have already done Phuket and Krabi, nature lovers, photographers and small groups happy with simple facilities. Camping and basic park accommodation are a long way from a beach resort, so set expectations clearly and keep the stay to two or three nights. Marine parks on this coast normally close during the south-west monsoon, so check the park's announced closing date before quoting late-season dates; our briefing on national park reopenings explains how the seasonal closures work.
How can a Thailand DMC help?
Road or air transfers to Ranong, a boat and a local guide for the islands, a hotel in Ranong town for the nights either side, and the rest of the Andaman trip: a Thailand DMC can arrange it all. Our tours and activities team plans the island days, our transport team handles the transfers, and every other service is on our Thailand DMC services page.
