What is confirmed
Reservations opened in August for stays beginning on 20 December 2026. The hotel has 75 keys, reported as 60 guest rooms and 15 suites. Earlier coverage, including our own look at the Chao Phraya riverfront pipeline, described the project as having around seventy-eight rooms; the figure attached to the reservation announcement is 75, and that is the one to quote.
The owner is Rabbit Holdings, part of the BTS Group, which began restoring the Custom House in 2019 and partnered with the Hong Kong-based Langham group to operate it. The historic building is a neo-Palladian complex on the east bank of the river in Bang Rak, completed in 1888 and long one of the most photographed buildings on the Chao Phraya.
The hotel, as reported
The guest rooms sit mostly in a new curving river wing designed by the Thai practice OBA, while the restored Custom House holds the public spaces. Reporting on the reservation launch lists the following, and it is worth confirming each item with the hotel before it appears in a client proposal:
- T'ang Court, a Bangkok outpost of the Cantonese restaurant at The Langham, Hong Kong, which holds three Michelin stars there. The Bangkok restaurant carries no stars of its own yet, and a proposal should not suggest it does.
- Chuan Spa, the group's spa brand, built around traditional Chinese medicine.
- A riverside bar, an Indian restaurant and further dining in the heritage building.
- An outdoor pool, a fitness centre and, as reported, a private boat for guests on the river.
- Two ballrooms, which make the property relevant to small incentive dinners and weddings as well as to leisure stays.

Who it suits
With 75 keys, this is a small luxury hotel, not a group house. It suits couples and honeymooners who want Bangkok's history rather than a shopping-mall district, returning Asia travellers who already know the Langham brand, and food-led clients for whom a Cantonese dinner is a reason to choose a hotel. For a large incentive group it is better as a venue for one evening than as the base for the whole stay.

Booking the first weeks
A hotel that opens on 20 December meets Christmas and New Year in its first fortnight. That is a strong window for demand and a demanding one for a new team. Three practical rules for your files:
Confirm the opening date in writing before you ticket. Opening dates for restored heritage hotels move more often than most. If a client's flights cannot move, ask your Thailand DMC to hold a named alternative on the river until the hotel confirms that the booked dates will operate.
Ask which outlets will be open. Restaurants and spas in a new hotel often open in stages. If T'ang Court or the spa is why the client is booking, confirm that it will be operating on their dates.
