Spartan has placed its 2026 Super World Championship at Singha Park in Chiang Rai, northern Thailand, over the weekend of 11–13 December 2026, with the championship race on 12 December. What is confirmed
According to Spartan's championship page, the event runs 11–13 December 2026 at Singha Park Chiang Rai, a large estate of hills, farmland and lakes on the edge of the city. The headline race is the Super, Spartan's 10-kilometre format, and the world title is decided on 12 December. The same weekend carries Trifecta races for open participants and races for children.
Spartan describes the course as rolling hills and technical trails through forest and farmland, and gives the typical December temperature as around 15 to 25°C. That is the cool, dry season in the north, and it is one of the reasons December suits a race here.
Who can race
This is the part clients most often misunderstand, so it is worth being precise:
- Elite racers must qualify. Spartan's published rule is a top-25 finish at a race of the same distance, or a top-10 finish at a race of a different distance, within the qualifying period.
- Age-group and open racers do not need to qualify. An amateur client who simply wants to race at a world championship weekend can enter an open wave.
- Children can enter the Spartan Kids races on the same weekend, which makes this a family trip as much as an athlete's one.
Race entries are sold by Spartan, not by us. The client should enter in their own name and keep the confirmation. We do not quote entry fees here, because they rise in tiers as the event approaches.
Getting there and staying
Chiang Rai International Airport is about 15 minutes from the city centre, according to Spartan, with domestic flights from both Bangkok airports. December is high season in the north, and a world-championship weekend will fill the city's better hotels early, so hold rooms now for any client who is serious about racing.
A racer needs three things from the ground programme: a quiet hotel with an early breakfast, a transfer that reaches the start area in good time, and somewhere to wash and change afterwards.
