Thailand Health Excellence 2026, launched on 30 June with support from the Tourism Authority of Thailand, includes a partnership with Fresenius Medical Care to promote "Dialysis-Friendly Long Stay Thailand" for dialysis patients on long stays. Explera DMC sets out what was published and what agents must still confirm.
Explera arranges the travel side of medical and wellness stays as a Thailand DMC; treatment decisions stay with the client's doctors. Its Thai company, Explera DMC Co., Ltd., holds TAT licence 14/05119, the Tourism Business Licence issued by the Department of Tourism, and the group is IATA TIDS-registered (96215733) and a member of ASTA (900408341). What was launched?
The launch release, dated 30 June 2026 in Bangkok, presents Thailand Health Excellence 2026 as a portfolio built on three pillars: medical excellence, science-based wellness and science-based local wisdom. It introduced ten Signature Health Journeys covering specialised medical care, post-treatment recovery, preventive wellness, healthy ageing, emotional wellbeing and long-term quality of life, without naming them one by one. TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool tied the programme to the campaign line "Healing is the New Luxury".
What does the dialysis programme say?
The release names Fresenius Medical Care as the partner promoting "Dialysis-Friendly Long Stay Thailand", which supports dialysis patients who wish to travel and stay in Thailand for extended periods while their care continues. It publishes no list of dialysis centres, no eligibility rules and no booking channel. The same release names ArokaGo, a platform on which travellers can search, compare and contact Thai healthcare and wellness providers, and a surf-therapy pilot in Phang Nga covered in our briefing on Thailand Surf Therapy.
How should agents handle a dialysis client?
Treat the dialysis sessions as the fixed points and build the travel around them. The client's own renal team should arrange the sessions and send the treatment records to the receiving centre before anything else is confirmed, so confirm hotels only once the session schedule is in place. Choose a hotel a short drive from the centre, plan a transfer for every session and keep touring days light. Check that the client's travel insurance covers the existing condition. Our medical tourism team handles the travel side, our briefing on Thailand's medical treatment visa covers longer stays, and a Thailand DMC can fill the days between sessions with short excursions. Every other service is on our Thailand DMC services page.
Next steps
Send your Thailand DMC the travel dates, the city of the dialysis centre and the session days through our contact page. Clinical questions belong with the client's doctors and the receiving centre.
