The 24th Bangkok Theatre Festival runs from 14 to 29 November 2026, with 103 performances by Thai and international artists at four venues in central Bangkok. Explera DMC Thailand explains how agents can add an evening of Thai theatre, from likay and puppetry to new experimental work, to a group or individual trip that month.
Explera handles ground arrangements as a Thailand DMC for travel agents. Its Thai company, Explera DMC Co., Ltd., holds TAT licence 14/05119, the Tourism Business Licence issued by the Department of Tourism, and the group is IATA TIDS-registered (96215733) and a member of ASTA (900408341). What has been announced?
The Nation reports that Bangkok Theatre Festival 2026 brings 103 performances to the city from 14 to 29 November, ranging from traditional likay and puppetry to musicals and experimental theatre. Thai companies share the programme with artists from Japan, South Korea, Myanmar, England and the United States, and some performances are free.
Where are the performances?
The four venues are the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC), TK Park, T. Namcharoen Playhouse and Tai Siam at Siam Square. BACC and Siam Square are a short walk apart in the city's shopping and arts district, on the BTS, so a show can follow an afternoon in the area or an early dinner nearby.
Which shows suit visitors?
The organisers have said that some shows will be suitable for audiences who do not speak Thai, so not every performance will work for visitors. Wait for the full programme, then choose a performance whose language suits your clients, or a visual form such as puppetry or physical theatre where the words matter less. Our desk can check a show's language before it goes into an itinerary.
What else is on in Bangkok in November?
The festival overlaps the Bangkok Art Biennale, which opens on 29 October, as our Bangkok Art Biennale briefing explains, and the Eurovision Song Contest Asia final on 14 November, covered in our Eurovision Asia briefing. Our Bangkok guide suggests what to add around a show.
How can a Thailand DMC help?
Hotels in the Siam area, a guide to explain a traditional performance, transfers and a pre-show dinner: a Thailand DMC can build an arts evening into a wider Bangkok programme. Our guide team can brief a group on likay before the curtain goes up, and every other service is on our Thailand DMC services page.
