What Thai Airways announced
According to the airline's winter schedule, reported by TTR Weekly on 8 September 2026, Thai Airways will operate 66 domestic and international routes between 25 October 2026 and 27 March 2027. Two routes are new or returning for the season:
- Bangkok–Danang, twice daily from 1 December 2026.
- Bangkok–Gaya in India, daily from 25 October 2026 to 31 March 2027.
Both use a 156-seat Airbus A320. Several regional routes also gain frequencies from 1 December: Hanoi, Vientiane and Kuala Lumpur each move from two flights a day to three, and Hong Kong from four to five.
Why a Danang link matters for a Thailand file
Many clients who come to Southeast Asia for two or three weeks want more than one country. Until now, adding central Vietnam to a Thailand trip usually meant a connection through Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, or a low-cost carrier with tighter baggage rules. A full-service flight twice a day gives a simpler option.
The link works in both directions. Clients can start in Bangkok and finish in Danang and Hoi An, or start in Vietnam and end with a beach stay in Thailand. How to build a Thailand and Vietnam trip
Sequence the trip around the flight days. With two flights a day, you can move between the countries on almost any day. Build the Thai part first, then fit the crossing to the hotel nights rather than the other way round.
