What IBTM Asia Pacific is
IBTM is the RX brand behind IBTM World in Barcelona and IBTM Americas in Mexico City. Announcing the Asia Pacific edition on 31 March 2026, IBTM said it would follow its hosted buyer model: corporate, association and agency buyers from the region meet destinations, venues, hotels and suppliers in pre-scheduled appointments, alongside a conference programme and a welcome party on the first day. RX runs the show through its local company, RX BITEC, and the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) is the official host destination partner. Earlier plans for an Asia Pacific edition in Singapore and Hong Kong did not go ahead, which makes Bangkok the first.
What it means for MICE agents
Two kinds of travel follow from the show. Suppliers who exhibit will want staff hotels, stand logistics and daily transfers to Bang Na, where BITEC sits beside BTS Bang Na station. Buyers will want hotels near the venue or along the Sukhumvit line, and many will add a day or two of site inspections. Hosted buyer places are allocated by the organiser, not by agents, and IBTM says more details will be shared in due course. A Thailand DMC can plan the travel around a place once it is confirmed.
How to plan for June 2027
Hold rooms early for staff and buyers, and build site inspection days around the show rather than into it.
