Two Bangkok hotels that are the first of their brand in their markets have opened in 2026: Canopy by Hilton Bangkok Sukhumvit, the Canopy brand's debut in South East Asia, in early August, and Grand Nikko Bangkok Sathorn, the first Grand Nikko in Thailand, in phases from 10 April. Both sit in business districts served by the Skytrain, and both are new, so confirm what is operating before you quote. This briefing, from a Thailand DMC for travel agents, sets out the facts from the operators' own releases and where each hotel fits.

Canopy by Hilton Bangkok Sukhumvit
Hilton's release says the hotel has opened with 174 rooms, including three suites, on Sukhumvit Soi 12 in the Asoke area, about a six-minute walk from the Asoke BTS and Sukhumvit MRT stations. It has four food and drink venues: Cante, a Spanish fire grill and taberna; SoolHaus, a Korean-inspired cocktail bar; Luso, an all-day café; and Glint, a rooftop pool bar. The public spaces were designed by the studio AvroKO, with a bronze façade inspired by vintage film cameras. The release does not mention meeting space, so ask the hotel directly before proposing it for groups.
Grand Nikko Bangkok Sathorn
Okura Nikko's release says the hotel began welcoming guests from 10 April 2026 as the first Grand Nikko in Thailand, with 405 guestrooms and suites, including 36 extended-stay residences, at 117 South Sathorn Road. It is about a ten-minute walk from Chong Nonsi BTS station and a 40-minute drive from Suvarnabhumi Airport. At opening it offered SANUK all-day dining, ICHO teppanyaki, the TENKU 33 rooftop bar, LA-MUN coffee and patisserie, an outdoor pool, a fitness centre and a yoga studio, plus a 422-square-metre Sathorn Grand Ballroom with a 7.5-metre ceiling and further meeting spaces. Benkay Japanese fine dining, the TENKU 33 outdoor garden, divana Spa and the Nikko Club Lounge were still to open in the coming months, with no dates given.
Where each fits and how to quote
Canopy suits individual and small-group clients who want a design-led base beside Asoke's Skytrain and metro interchange. Grand Nikko is the one to consider for corporate and incentive groups, because it has a ballroom, meeting rooms and a Sathorn business address. Both are new, so do not promise facilities that Grand Nikko listed as still to open, and ask for written confirmation of what is operating on your client's dates. Ask your Thailand DMC to check status with the hotel before quoting and to offer an alternative from established stock. Our new hotel openings briefing tracks the wider pipeline, our Fairmont Bangkok Sukhumvit briefing and YOTEL Bangkok briefing cover two other Sukhumvit openings, our hotel bookings team handles reservations, and every other service is on our Thailand DMC services page.
