What launched, and when?
The Tourism Authority of Thailand welcomed the inaugural flight, VZ681, at Suvarnabhumi on 9 October 2026. According to TAT, VZ681 leaves Kuala Lumpur at 15:15 and lands in Bangkok at 16:30, and the return, VZ680, leaves Bangkok at 11:00 and lands in Kuala Lumpur at 14:10, both in local time. The aircraft is a 189-seat Boeing 737-8, and TAT reported 171 booked seats on the first flight, a load factor of 90 per cent on each sector.
Why does it matter for agents selling Malaysia?
Malaysia is one of Thailand's largest markets: TAT counted 3,006,730 Malaysian arrivals between 1 January and 7 October 2026. A daily service adds another Kuala Lumpur option into Suvarnabhumi, Bangkok's main international airport, which suits clients connecting onward. TAT and the airline are also hosting representatives of 12 Malaysian travel companies on a familiarisation trip from 12 to 16 October, covering Bangkok, Ayutthaya, Nakhon Pathom and Samut Songkhram. Our briefing on Malaysia as a source market covers the holiday pattern behind the demand.
How should agents plan around the schedule?
The published times give a late-afternoon arrival in Bangkok, so plan a transfer and a light first evening, with touring from the next morning. The 11:00 return means a hotel checkout and airport transfer before 08:00 on the last day. Day trips to Ayutthaya or the Samut Songkhram floating markets fit the middle days. Our transport team sets the transfers to the flight times, and a Thailand DMC can hold group space while you confirm seats with the airline. Every other service is on our Thailand DMC services page.
